Responsibility in Teaching and Learning

The main purpose of instruction is to promote student learning. This means that teachers direct all matters dealing withn. Students need to follow a teacher's guidance, study, do homework, and prepare for class to master the information and skills being taught. Students should expect to spend 2 hours per day outside class for each hour of scheduled class. Some students will spend additional time based on their personal learning needs.

The ultimate responsibility for learning lies with the student. Although faculty members will teach, guide, assist, and encourage, it is the students w ho control the outcome. Learning is hard work, and should be considered a top priority in the student's life, in order to be successful.
